Holiday Greetings to our Scuba Family

We are very grateful for your business. Equally important to us is the friendship and comaraderie that comes with sharing our mutual love of scuba diving. We welcomed many new members to our BoN family in 2019 and reluctantly said goodbye to a few servicemembers whose duties took them elsewhere. We trained together, from Open Water through Instructor including fun Specialties like Cavern, Nitrox, AWARE, Deep, Wreck and Diver Propulsion Vehicle Diver. We traveled throughout Georgia, Alabama, Florida and the Caribbean. These experiences forged strong bonds which blessed us all.

We will close 2019 and open 2020 with our first trip to Asia as we dive in the tropical archipelago of the Philippines (26 December - 04 January). We want you to look good and be properly equipped for all your diving adventures in the new year and beyond. So here are some of Santa's favorite gift ideas to in your diver's stocking.

A Gift to Last a Lifetime

A scuba certification never expires. Buying a scuba class gift certificate for a loved one really is a gift that lasts forever. Not sure if they'll like it? Buy a gift certificate for Discover Scuba Diving and watch what happens when your friend or family member breathes underwater for the first time. It will change their life!

You can also buy gift certificates for any amount and for any service (air fills, hydros, regulator service) that we provide.

Diver Tool Repair Kit

This kit provides provides all the tools most divers need to perform field repairs on their scuba gear. It includes:

- straight slot and Phillips screwdrivers
- Allen (hex) keys
- needlenose pliers
- silicone
- zip ties
- adjustable wrench
- wrenches size 1/2" to 11/16"
- assorted O rings

Shearwater Dive Computers

Shearwater has become the standard for dive computers with their large, readable displays, user-replaceable battery, logical menus and Bluetooth connectivity for updating your electronic logbook. Recreational and technical divers alike enjoy its ease of use and rugged reliability.

Adding the Air Integration module to your first stage regulator eliminates the high pressure hose, streamlining your configuration.

A Heads Up Display (HUD) for scuba? What! Shearwater's Near Eye Remote Display (NERD) portrays your dive data in front of your mask. It's like viewing a 32" TV from 12' away. Monitor your depth, time and cylinder pressure without diverting your eyes from in front of you.

Products from Reef Safe include Eternal Summer after-sun moisturizer and Burn Cooler, pure aloe renourishing gel that feels so good if you neglect to wear sunscreen.

Reef Safe products are biodegradable, non-toxic, safe for sea life and soothing to the skin after a day in the water.

Ahh. The refreshing taste of an ice cold beer after the dives. Keep it cold with these handsome black and blue bottle wraps emblazoned with a stylish sea turtle.

At less than $10 these Big Blue ocean-inspired keychains make nice stocking stuffers. The keychain on the right features a moray eel wrapped around a scuba cylinder.

Dive Lights

The Dive Rite BX2 light (left and right of the LX20 in the center)  is small yet powerful and tough. Its Cree XP-L LED produces 1,000 lumens and has a 10,000 burn life.

The BX2 is depth rated to 492' (150m) and has a 10,000-hour burn life. It can be handheld, helmet mounted (often used in pairs) or worn in Dive Rite's Quick Release Mount which frees up your hand for other tasks.

You can even shoot GoPro video with the BX2 by using an optional light diffuser. I use these as my backup lights when cave diving. The BX2 is made in the USA.

Reel and Surface Marker Buoy

You are eager to experience your first drift dive. Land is a thin strip on the horizon. You are miles from shore riding along in a stiff current. How does that boat captain know where your group is? Can you make a slow, steady ascent while riding the current? ...make your safety stop at 15' with precision?  The answer is yes with a surface marker buoy (SMB) attached to a reel. These are standard pieces in any drift diver's kit.

The reel also comes in handy during Cavern, Cave, Wreck and Search and Recovery dives, as well as for accurately measuring distances underwater. (Tie a knot at every 10'.)

New Products at BoN

Bare Wetsuits - They feature very stretchy material, quality stitching, come in sizes from small to 4L and feature Omnired technology. Stay warm no matter the water temperature by choosing 3, 5 or 7mm. Bare makes the most comfortable wetsuits I've ever worn.

Bare Exowear - These undergarments can be worn under wet or dry suits. Their remarkable feature is adding warmth equivalent to 1.5 to 2mm of neoprene without adding buoyancy. I recently tried mine in 72-degree spring water inside my 5mm wetsuit. Some people wear the Exowear jacket topside to keep warm on their surface interval. Nice!

Bigblue Lights - These powerful yet affordable lights are powered by rechargeable Li-Ion batteries. Stop in, turn them on and be amazed.

Vindicator - This unique handle has two internal sleeves that indicate that the cylinder valve is open (green) or closed (red). You can install them without draining your cylinder (or I'll do it for you, free of charge, while you wait). It adds a margin of safety, clearly indicating your valve's status before you and your buddy get wet.

Miscellany
Our many modestly priced items include zippered logbooks, dive stickers, slates and underwater pencils, regulator DIN dust caps, drysuit zipper wax, mask defogging solution, mugs and glasses, T-shirts, ball caps, and more. Support your local dive shop and surprise your divers with memorable, practical gifts that surely will not be regifted.
